 Photo Manipulation คือการออกแบบและจัดวางองค์ประกอบของภาพให้ดูสวยงามโดยใช้เทคนิคต่าง ๆ มากมาย อาจมีทั้งการ retouch, digital painting, และการสร้าง graphic และ effect ต่างๆประกอบภาพ ขึ้นอยู่กับความสามารถและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ของแต่ละบุคคล การตัดต่อนับว่าเป็นสิ่งสำคัญอย่างหนึ่ง เพราะส่วนมากแล้วจะมีการนำ ภาพนางแบบนายแบบหรือวัตถุต่างๆมาเป็นส่วนประกอบของภาพอยู่ตลอด  Photo manipulation is the application of image editing techniques to photographs in order to create an illusion or deception (in contrast to mere enhancement or correction), through analog or digital means[1].
